Tippy's Story

At Pet Network Humane Society, we encounter countless animals with stories that touch our hearts and remind us of the resilience and courage inherent in every living being. Today, we want to share the incredible journey of Tippy, a three-month-old puppy whose story is a testament to the power of love, care, and determination. The Discovery Tippy was found wandering alone, a tiny stray puppy with a severe injury and starving. Half of her back leg was missing, the result of what our veterinary team suspects was a snare or trap. Despite the excruciating pain and the severity of her wound, Tippy's spirit remained unbroken. Her condition was dire, with the leg already infected and at risk of causing further complications. A Fight for Survival​ When Tippy was brought to Pet Network, our medical team immediately sprang into action. We suspected it took at least 4 days of being stuck in the snare before she was able to chew her dead foot off or it fell off on its own. The infection had progressed to the point where her leg had fallen off. It was a heartbreaking sight, but it also presented a clear path forward: a complete amputation was necessary to save Tippy's life. Our skilled veterinarian, Dr. Marlene Tremblay, performed the surgery with precision and care, ensuring that Tippy would have the best possible chance at recovery. The procedure was a success, and Tippy began her journey to healing. The Road to Recovery Tippy's resilience shone through in the days and weeks following her surgery. With her injured leg now a thing of the past, she quickly adapted to life on three legs. Her playful nature and boundless energy were a constant source of inspiration to everyone at Pet Network. Despite her ordeal, Tippy's spirit remained undimmed, and she showed us all what it means to overcome adversity with grace and strength. A Bright Future Ahead Thanks to the dedication and expertise of our medical team, Tippy is now thriving. Her infectious joy and love for life have captured the hearts of everyone she meets. She serves as a powerful reminder of why we do what we do here at Pet Network Humane Society: to provide a second chance to animals in need and to help them find the loving homes they deserve. No surprise, Tippy's warmth won over a seasoned tri-pod adopter! She now lives without fear, in a home with her adoptive family and tri-pod brother!
