Pet Network is committed to community collaboration, not only with other animal rescue organizations but with children's advocacy groups, schools and other non-profit organizations.

Our primary collaborative efforts are in the areas of eliminating the needless euthanasia of healthy animals in our community and in providing humane education to civic groups and local schools.

Pet Network maintains ongoing collaborative efforts with: Washoe Regional Animal Services, Fallon Animal Control, Lyon County Animal Services, Nevada Humane Society, Northern Nevada SPCA, Humane Society of Tahoe Truckee, WARF, and Maddies Fund. The purpose of this collaboration is to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable and healthy animals. By working together, referring potential adopters, and sharing information with these groups Pet Network has dramatically increased the number of animals we annually adopt, and we have greatly reduced the number of animals euthanized at local animal control facilities.

The second collaborative effort we maintain is with area schools and civic groups. We offer any of these groups an open invitation for one-time or ongoing humane education opportunities from Pet Network staff. We utilize these opportunities to create awareness about a variety of topics such as: animal cruelty, animal care issues, legislation for animal issues, spay/neuter education, and domestic violence and animal abuse connections. We hope that by providing these opportunities we will positively impact the welfare of animals within our community.
