Letter from the Director

Every day is a great day when the job that you hold is meaningful and is something that you are passionate about. And passion for a cause is something the staff, volunteers, board and supporters of Pet Network know all about. We come to work each day knowing that in some small way, each and every day we make the life of an animal in need better than the day before. Every day we are lucky enough to see the fruits of our labor, and of your support making a difference, a real difference, in the lives of the animals in our care.

Sometimes we take for granted that you, our supporters, know how much your contributions make a difference. Take a close look at this newsletter. If you have ever doubted how truly meaningful your donations are, one glance at our success stories will show you that every donation is a life-saving one.

Whether you donate fifty dollars a year or fifty thousand, YOU make a difference to the animals in our care.

In 2009 Pet Network once again exceeded last year’s adoptions by almost 120 animals. We successfully reduced almost every expense not related to the direct care of animals as well. Through these efforts we have not only maintained, but grown our life-saving capacity in one of the most difficult economies since our inception.

We know that there are many worthy charities that deserve your support. Pet Network is both honored and thankful that you choose to support our work, our animals, and our passion for ending the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals.

We continue our work in 2010 with great pride in our past accomplishments and greater determination than ever to exceed our goals.

With more than 7,000 lives saved we have truly made a difference to the animals in and around our community.

Although for many of you the name Pet Network immediately brings to mind animal rescue, far too many in and around our community don’t know that we are a shelter for animals in need. In order to share the message and mission of Pet Network more successfully we are changing our name to Pet Network Humane Society. Rest assured — we will always be “your” Pet Network, regardless of our name.

As always, I end by thanking you for making it possible for the staff of Pet Network
Humane Society to live their dream; saving the lives of animals in need.

Thank you for all that you do.
Becky Goodman, Executive Director
