Event Help

We host several events throughout the year at Pet Network and at various offsite locations. Events range from adoption and community events to fundraising events.

It takes a dedicated team of people to pull off a successful event, and you’re help is greatly appreciated. Skills needed for these events are customer service, marketing, planning, designing and media relations just to name a few. To hear about these events you can sign up for our e-newsletters. The Volunteer Coordinator also sends regular emails out to active volunteers to notify them of upcoming events and opportunities available. Here are some examples of events we’ve had in the past and some of our annual events:

Fundraising events

Fur Ball – Black tie gala to raise money for Pet Network. Silent and live auction with dinner and entertainment. Lots of volunteers are needed for this every year. The planning stages usually last about 4-6 months.

Photos with Santa – Families and their pets come to Pet Network to get their photos taken with Santa

Purses for Pets – This event is usually held every other year, we collect new and used purses in good condition and hold an event with a purse auction, hors d'oeuvres and wine. Volunteers are needed to help with organizing, data entry, set up and auction monitoring at the event.

Community and adoption events

Natural Paws Adoption Events – A Natural pet store in Reno holds regular adoption events, we bring dogs and puppies to the event to find homes in Reno. We usually require one volunteer per dog.

Dog Days of Fall – A fun community event where local dogs can enjoy swimming in the Burnt Cedar pool in incline after it closes. Pet Network promotes our services and serves hot Rescue Roast coffee to attendees. Volunteers also serve as lifeguards to help dogs get out of the pool or judges of the various contests.

Snowfest – Winter Parade in Kings Beach, we host a doggie dress-up contest at the North Tahoe Event center after the parade.

Red, White and Tahoe Blue parade – The annual 4th of July parade through Incline Village that culminates at the Village Green for a community fair. We walk dogs in the parade and host games at the Village Green like corn-hole and a doggie dress up contest with prizes.

Hike for Hounds – Another fun event hosted by Natural Paws in Reno. Dog owners register to join the hike, usually a 3-4 mile hike through the foothills followed by a community fair with food and free gifts for dogs and their owners. Proceeds from this event are donated to local shelters, including Pet Network.
