Beautiful Lake Tahoe Awaits.
The Board of Directors is looking for a new Executive Director to lead the team at Pet Network Humane Society (PNHS), located in Incline Village, Nevada (population 8,500). Nestled on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, which Mark Twain once called "the fairest picture the whole world affords," Incline Village is a paradise for those who seek leisure or adventure, offering exhilarating activities all year round. The town has two golf courses, a recreation center and is home to Sierra Nevada University. In the summer, Lake Tahoe’s North Shore is where you will find some of the area’s most relaxing beaches, as well as opportunities for a wide variety of outdoor activities on the lake such as kayaking, boating, and fishing. The surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains have superb hiking and mountain biking trails in the summer months as well as numerous winter activities, drawing flocks of snow lovers to Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose ski areas, among other nearby ski resorts. While Lake Tahoe itself is the place to unwind, it is also conveniently located to Reno, including the Reno-Tahoe International Airport which is about a 45-minute drive from Incline Village, and Carson City, Nevada’s capital, which is about a 25-minute drive. South Lake Tahoe, also about a 25-minute drive, is home to the area’s largest casinos. Come work, live, and play in what many call "the jewel of the Sierras," and help us transform Pet Network Humane Society into a truly one-of-a-kind animal welfare organization.
About Pet Network Humane Society
This Nevada non-profit 501(c)(3) organization was originally a volunteer-operated and foster-based adoption group that became incorporated in 1991. In the spring of 1998, property for a shelter was purchased and Pet Network Humane Society officially opened its animal shelter facility in October 2000.
In 2020, Pet Network Humane Society cared for more than 700 animals that were transferred in from overcrowded animal shelters in Nevada and the surrounding area. Pet Network has an estimated operating budget of $1.6 million and employs a staff of approximately 20 people including four director-level positions. PNHS also engages many local, long-time volunteers who assist at the shelter as well as run the Thrift Store located in Incline Village.
Be an essential part of an important collaboration between the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation and animal welfare organizations across Nevada. This collaboration will create a first-of-its-kind safety net for dogs and cats in Nevada through partnerships which support shelters and improve access to veterinary care for all of Nevada's pets. This is a unique opportunity to be part of leading Nevada’s animal welfare efforts and this role will be instrumental in making Nevada the best place for pets and the people that love them!
